Well... okay, fair enough. But pebbles fall in ponds all the time, and anyone can cause ripples. Reality-bending magic, like, turns the pebble into a boulder when it sinks, or makes it float, or turns the water into Jello or something. Magic does stuff to the world that doesn't happen naturally.

That's what I think, anyway.
